Re-roofing Hell

Today is day 3 of re-roofing hell inside my library. Monday and Tuesday I was bombarded w/intermittent showers of a turd cocktail (roach, gecko, termite, rodent, etc?) and ceiling particles. When they throw down the slabs of shingles it sounds like elephants dropping onto the ceiling. We literally watch the ceiling shaking. I have 3 cracked ceiling tiles. The good news is that they’re almost done! Woohoo!!! I can’t wait. The noise isn’t too bad, but the constant pounding is pretty annoying. Today my janitor came up w/the brilliant plan of bringing in her radio, so we’ve been listening to Hawaiian music all morning. Amazingly it helps drown out the pounding. I can’t find my king size bottle of ibuprofen! Fat lot of good that does me. So now I have to deal w/the headache and my face still hurts from getting my teeth worked on yesterday.

My mood: looking forward to the long weekend!
