Waiting for paint to dry
Gave myself a French manicure and I am literally waiting for my nail polish to dry and have run out of things to do. Should go to bed, have an early day tomorrow, but am afraid of messing up the nails. So, listening to iTunes and admiring my Las Vegas French manicure. I have to say, the "French" part is pretty straight. Decided to use iridescent OPI nail polish instead of clear. It's very glittery and the white makes my skin look tan. Cool. Is that too girly? I'm not a girly girl usually, except when it comes to my nails. It's the only beauty product I'm crazy for. I love to paint my toenails. I don't usually do fingers because I am not very kind to them and after a day they need to be removed. I can't stand when it starts to chip off and the ends look all chewed. Oh, and I chew the tips of my nails out of habit. I don't know why. I don't bite them off, I just gnaw on them a bit. I know, gross.
I babble. That's a sign that it must be late.
My iTunes playlist for the evening (I feel mainstream, poppy, and full of girl-power):
1. I'll stand by you - Carrie Underwood version via Sis. She's no pretender, but I still like the song.
2. Around the world - ATC. It's a gym favorite. Makes me want to dance.
3. Potential breakup song - Aly and AJ. I dunno why I like this song. Catchy?
4. Fergalicous - Fergie. I love that she's so full of herself. I would be too if I were her.
5. Heart of glass - Blondie. I still have no idea what she's saying, but I love it.
6. Lucky - Britney Spears. This was back when she was still innocent (sort of) and talented (sort of).
7. It's my life - No Doubt. Can't remember who originally did this song, but it was a band in the 80's (not Bon Jovi)
8. Promiscuous - Nelly Furtado. Love her. Fun song.
9. Since you've been gone - Kelly Clarkson. Angry breakup song. Actually a lot of her songs are sort of angry.
10. More to life - Stacie Orrico. Is she a one-hit wonder? Wait a minute... I don't actually think this was a hit.
11. You had me - Joss Stone. I love her voice. Another angry breakup song.
12. I will survive - Gloria Gaynor. I always think of the Replacements when I hear this song.
My mood: good

Hi Cora!
#5 - heh, heart of glass = empty and fragile?; http://tinyurl.com/59leyg for lyrics (used to laugh at the "pain in the ass" part when I would hear this on the radio -- "she said 'ass' on the radio and no bleeps!")
#7 - originally done by UK group Talk Talk (No Doubt definitely does an excellent cover of the song. Watching MTV when they showed music videos 24/7 didn't turn my brain to mush.)
#12 - female empowerment, woo hoo! (Is it my imagination or it seems like movies with drag queens always have this song?)
Yeah, I'm playing catch up with your blog. I'm soooo behind. Been listening to 80's music lately -- U2, Berlin, Icehouse, Ultravox, Duran Duran, The Fixx, A Flock of Seagulls, INXS, Midnight Oil, etc. So I'm being an old fogie. :oP
